Single Malt Whisky ~ Blossoming Auld Sherried ~ 45% ~ 700mL

This single malt whisky from Michel Couvreur is his remake of the legendary malt whiskies of the Victorian era. It opens with fragrances of Sherry, maple syrup, flowers, vanilla, and dried fruits. Mellow and long in the mouth, with a nice balance between Sherry’s warmth and the fresh flavors that only barley can produce. This is a fabulous demonstration of a whisky matured in a very impregnated sweet PX sherry cask. Its label does not indicate time spent in wood as the whisky’s maturity is reached differently in every cask. This expression is very Sherried indeed, and perhaps the reason it is named “Blossoming.”
